The history of JCCoimbra dates back to 1946, when its founder, José Carvalho Coimbra, began distributing olive oil. Over the years, a spirit of ambition, humility, hard work and innovation has enabled the company to refine its operations and develop new capabilities in order to meet the ever-growing, volatile and diverse demands of the market.
The JCCoimbra Group operates in the olive oil sector, specialising in the supply of olive oils and edible oils to the consumer market and the processing industry, through its own brands and private label solutions. Its products are distributed across various international markets, reflecting a well-established and expanding business.

José Carvalho Coimbra set up the company, as a partnership, “Ferreira Correia & Coimbra, Lda”, continuing the distribution of olive oil.
The sole trader business “José Carvalho Coimbra” is established.
He was a founding partner of the company “Marialva – Soc. Industrial e Armazenista de Azeites, Lda”, which began operating in the field of packaging and refining. He left the company in 1973.
Olive oil bottling operations are commencing on an individual basis at the Estarreja site.
Relocation to new premises (Avanca) and establishment of the current company, “José Carvalho Coimbra; Companhia, Lda”. The industrial site comprises a packaging facility, a refinery and a storage facility.
Acquisition of a stake in Aucama – Complexo Agro Industrial Valpacense, Lda. An industrial facility comprising an olive mill and an olive pomace oil extraction plant.
